The Harleys

My favouritest sister in the whole world, Rose Harley, had a baby a few months ago. We’ve taken a few weeks off the middle of crazy wedding season to come over to the (freezing) UK to visit – so I go to meet my little neice, Blue, for the first time this week. There mayyy have been a few tears.

We went for a walk one morning with their pup, Harry (my favourite poochie), and took some family photos. They make my heart happy.

Marie Brice - Love love love these photos! Good job Lauren – oh and the cast of three are pretty pretty too!

Documenting family.

After finally getting my hands on the first issue of Alphabet Family Journal, and reading through the beautiful stories contained within it, I have resolved to taking more photos of my fur children. Not just taking an iphone photo when they do something cute, but taking proper photos of them as they are in every day life. So a couple of weeks ago I carried my camera around the house with me for a week, and took hundreds of photos of my babies. Here are just a few of them.

Floraging.

Ok so… it has been a while. Again. But what better way to get back on the blogging horse than by sharing these photos of that time Bec from Fox and Rabbit raided my backyard (‘floraging’ my florals…) and taught me how to make floral arrangements. She’s one of the best humans EVER.

OK so I’m going to cut back on my usual crediting – so I’ll just say that Bec’s t-shirt (aka the PERFECT floraging attire) is from the lovely ladies at On A Whim. xx

Mount Tinbeerwah.

On our second day off in Queensland, we went up to Mount Tinbeerwah – which has 360 degree views, and is only a short 15 minute walk up to the top. About as close to hiking as I get :) I still managed to twist my ankle in the carpark on our way out though…

Lake Macdonald.

In May, we were lucky enough to get flown over to Queensland to shoot a (beautiful!) wedding. We booked a 5 day stay, so we could do a bit of exploring while we were there – and boy is there some amazing countryside in Queensland! It is SO green compared to Perth. On our first day off, we explored some of the pretty surrounds of Lake Macdonald, near Cooroy.

This last photo is from our drive back to where we were staying, in Black Mountain… we called this Sudden Valley, as it seemed the earth would just drop away as you rounded the corner. We stopped to get a photo, and a dog called Dingo started barking at us. That is pretty Australian.
