An obsession with floral crowns.

So I have a complete and utter obsession with floral crowns. There is something so whimsical and ethereal about them – maybe they remind me of fairies or elves from my childhood. Wherever this obsession comes from, I am lucky enough to be friends with an amazingly talented lass who specialises in floral crowns – Bec from Fox & Rabbit.

Bec did the floral crown for my wedding, and more recently, she has started an amazing project on instagram, #30flowercrownsin30days where, you guessed it, she’s featuring 30 (amazing!) crowns over 30 days.

Not only were Glenn and I lucky enough to be taking the photos of this amazing project, but I also got to take some crowns home with me!! I managed to flit around the house like a fairy wearing each one of them the next day, and even talked Glenn into taking some photos of me in one of them :)

My very first floral creation. » Secondhand Floral - […] places in Perth, Studio Bomba. I am utterly obsessed with floral crowns (as I have ranted about before!) so it seemed necessary for me to learn how to make my own! I’ve already made a couple since […]

Our first kinfolk dinner.

I say our first, because I am hoping there will be many more to come!

I have a small obsession with kinfolk. The magazine itself is lovely, but the events just seem divine – filled with pretty things, amazing people and just general fun and loveliness! I’ve always looked at the photos and thought, I want to go to there. And so it was with great excitement that I learnt that kinfolk would be coming to Perth, and be hosted by the lovely Stacey Clark and Lauren Ioppolo. I missed out on the first couple of workshops, but was luckily free for the best one of all – The Kinfolk Table!

I didn’t bring my camera in to the actual dinner – I gave myself the night off! – but we did take a couple of photos before we left home, and I got a quickie of the table setting on my phone. If you want to see the official (and pretty!) photos, you can see the post on Stacey’s website here (which includes a killer photo of me cracking up with the wonderful Jess from The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist and Creator!)

And here’s my sneaky iphone photo…kinfolk-5-resize

Stacey - It was such a fantastic night!! Thanks so much for coming, I loved spending time with you! Beautiful post xxxx

Secondhand Floral - It was so good! I can’t stop looking through the photos on your blog, you did such an amazing job on this event! xx

Urban life.

Last week we had a shoot in the alleys of Perth city – which was a different scene for us, as we usually spend our time in fields and forests! So it was a nice change of pace, and meant we got to do a different type of exploring :)

I also got to debut my amazing cat skirt. Why can’t everything I own have cats on it?

Oh and we’ve decided that every wedding anniversary, I will get a new wedding ring (… I get bored of jewellery easily) so here is my new Alister Yiap ring – will post a better photo soon :)
