Visiting the farm.

One of my friends owns a farm just outside of Perth, so one afternoon we all met up at her house for lunch and an explore. My other friends daughter, Torah, has kind of been my muse in terms of family and kids photography – I just want to take photos of her every time I see her. She’s the reason I’ve started to get into family photos. I love her and her face just a little bit.

Here are a few photos of her exploring the farm :)

One year anniversary.

One year ago today, I married my favourite person in the world. It was a pretty magical day – I still smile and laugh when I look through the photos, and I still tear up every time I hear ‘Home’ by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (our surprise first dance song).

One year later, and we’re still going strong – even though we work together we still seem to like being around each other, which is a good sign I guess :) Here are a few photos from the day, taken by the wonderful Samm Blake. Recent purchases.

So I have made a few more purchases lately that I’m a bit excited about. I went op shopping for the first time in FOREVER, which has given me such a taste for it that I have an epic op shopping day planned for next weekend with the bestie… and I’ve also made a few more random purchases that I thought I’d share.

While op shopping I found this amazing clutch that is slightly broken (but worth fixing!) and some old flour bags that I plan to make into cushions. And, you know, just embrace the Australian-ness.

While we were in London, I bought a LOT of things… but a couple of my favourites are this amazing necklace I bought from the Brick Lane markets (I took a business card from the store but can’t seem to locate it anywhere…) and this headband from the Camden markets. I love headscarves, but I have the kind of shaped head that things just fall off… so I love the idea of a headband-that-pretends-it’s-a-headscarf :)

For our stall at the First Comes Love fair, we wanted to keep it fairly simple, but incorporate a lot of green – so along with a lot of fake grass, we also bought these cute green bunnies! They (and the fake grass!) now live in our house.

Lastly, Glenn surprised me this week with the new Frankie Journal – the prettiest diary around!! I’ve already eagerly started filling out the big events for next year (as you can see, my 30th is among those events…)

I’m looking forward to sharing some more purchases after next weekend!

Lunching.

Yesterday was the first day we’ve had free together for a while, so Glenn and I went out for a walk and a lunch in Mt Lawley. Beaufort st is such an interesting street, and surrounded by pretty graffiti and quaint laneways – so we took a few photos on our way out :)
